What does offshore mean for a dedicated server?
Offshore means outside the buyer's own country. For a dedicated server, two places decide it: the country where the hosting company is registered, and the country of the datacenter.
An offshore dedicated server is a whole physical machine rented from a company or datacenter abroad, chosen in part for that country's law.
The word depends on who buys. A machine in Amsterdam is offshore for a customer in Texas or Lagos, but not for one in Utrecht. Either layer is enough to make a server offshore. At Ironatoll, the company is in Panama and each machine sits in a datacenter under its own national law.
Which laws apply to an offshore dedicated server from Ironatoll?
Three laws apply, and each one covers a different part of the deal. Ironatoll is run by DomaineGoat LLC, a company registered in Panama, and answers only to Panamanian law. Each server’s datacenter, for its part, is bound by the law of the country it stands in.
Company law: Panama, for DomaineGoat LLC, its contracts and its records.
Datacenter law: the country of the building, for the hardware and the network. Ironatoll locations: Amsterdam (Netherlands), Reykjavik (Iceland), Zurich (Switzerland) and Bucharest (Romania); each plan is sold in each city at one price.
Your law: your own country's, for you and for everything you run.
How is an offshore dedicated server different from an offshore VPS?
A VPS is a virtual slice of a shared machine; a dedicated server is the machine itself. On a VPS, a hypervisor splits one host into many guests that share its CPU, memory and disks. On a dedicated server, no hypervisor and no other customer sit on the hardware.
Ironatoll's offer: Offshore dedicated servers: a whole physical machine for you alone, with no virtualization layer and no neighbours, and full root access over SSH.
The whole machine gives you every core at all times, the full speed of its disks and room for your own Proxmox VE guests. It costs more than a VPS, and a person prepares it: A person prepares your server after your payment is confirmed, within 72 hours, so it is not instant; your dashboard shows the status, then the IP address once the server is ready. Which one suits your project is covered on dedicated server or VPS: which one do I need.
How does Ironatoll compare with an offshore VPS and a mainstream dedicated server?
Ironatoll sits between the two: the hardware of a mainstream dedicated server, with the signup and the law of an offshore host.

Do mainstream dedicated-server hosts ask for ID?
Many do, and frustration with those checks is a common reason to look offshore. OVHcloud verifies orders by hand and can ask for extra documents; without a reply, the order is not delivered. Its order-tracking FAQ says so (read on 30 October 2026).
Hetzner's checks draw the same complaints. On 30 October 2026, Google completed "hetzner verification" with words such as failed, pending and id.
Ironatoll has no such step. No KYC: no ID, selfie, documents, card or phone number are ever collected. You log in with an account number, and an email address is an option, not a requirement. Bare-metal hosts without the check are compared on which Hetzner alternatives don't require ID verification.
Where are offshore dedicated servers located?
They cluster in a handful of countries with large datacenter markets.
According to Ironatoll's check of 30 October 2026, the countries offered most often by the 34 active dedicated-server hosts it reviewed were the Netherlands (19), Germany (15), the United States (14), the United Kingdom (12) and Singapore (11).
The datacenter's country sets the ground rules for the hardware. It decides who may enter the building, which court can order a seizure and how the local network handles complaints. The company's country decides the rest: contracts, records and the notices the host acts on.
Does offshore mean abuse is allowed?
No. Offshore describes where the host and the machine are, not what may run on them. Hosting that knowingly shelters spam, malware and phishing is a separate trade, and governments sanction it: see how offshore hosting differs from hosting built for abuse.
Ironatoll suspends that abuse. Spam and bulk email, phishing, malware and botnet control, DDoS and other attacks, scanning or brute-forcing systems that belong to others, booter and stresser services, carding and fraud, child sexual abuse material, cryptocurrency mining and any service to sanctioned people or companies are all forbidden. Port 25 (SMTP) is blocked for outgoing traffic on every server as an anti-spam measure, and the block is permanent. Outgoing connections to mail providers on ports 465 and 587 work normally.
Why do people rent an offshore dedicated server?
Buyers' searches point to a few recurring reasons:
No paperwork at signup: No KYC: no ID, selfie, documents, card or phone number are ever collected.
Tor relays: Tor exit relays may run on our servers, and so may middle relays and bridges.
A private VPN or a Bitcoin node on hardware that no one else touches.
Room to build: a cluster of virtual machines under Proxmox VE, or a language model run on CPU cores and plenty of RAM.
None of these needs a GPU or Windows, which Ironatoll does not offer. Linux only: Debian, Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, and Proxmox VE to run your own virtual machines. No Windows.
How much does an offshore dedicated server cost at Ironatoll?
An offshore dedicated server at Ironatoll costs from $63.68 per 30 days for Intel Xeon E-2236 (6 cores / 12 threads), 16 GB RAM, 2 × 480 GB SSD in RAID 1, 30 TB a month at 1 Gbit/s, 1 IPv4 and an IPv6 /64. Every plan: Atoll 16 $63.68, Atoll 32 $72.15, Atoll 64 $72.62, Atoll 128 $205.27, Atoll 256 $406.37.
The entry plan costs 25% less than its named reference from 17 no-KYC hosts that take crypto (30 October 2026): Bacloud's “Xeon E2xG” at $84.91. No setup fee: you pay only the price of the term you choose, at your order as at every renewal.
In every plan: Whole machine · Root access · RAID 1 on two disks · Dedicated IPv4 · No logs · No KYC
